About

A blockbuster refers to a film, or other media, that has gained wide popularity and financial success. Blockbusters have been a part of the movie industry for decades, and have been a huge inspiration for elements of Zenless Zone Zero. As such, this project aims to focus on the highly fantastical and buzzworthy characters, story, and design of Hoyoverse’s latest installment.This zine hopes to serve as a look into life in the last city on the planet. Snapshots of Sixth Street and its peculiar residents, exclusive interviews with the magnificent Astra Yao, or maybe a food critic review of the hottest stop in the Outer Ring: Cheesetopia! These are just some of the possibilities waiting to be explored in BLOCKBUSTER.

A fanzine is a self-published collection of orginal fanworks by creatives.What is this zine about?

This is a for-profit zine focused on the world of Zenless Zone Zero and its swath of unique characters and settings. We will include art, writing, music, and cosplay to showcase everything we love about the game!What is the rating for this zine?

This will be an SFW zine.What format will this zine be?

This zine will be available physically and digitally, including various merch items. Specific item information will be made available to contributors during our creation period, and publicly once preorders open.How will contributors be compensated?

This zine will be a for-profit zine, so if funds allow, contributors and mods will receive an even cut of remaining profits after our leftovers period.Contributors will, at the very least, be given a PDF copy of the zine. If funds allow, they may receive a physical copy of the book with merch invoiced at production cost. If funds allow further, contributors may receive a free full bundle.



Contributor InformationWho can apply as a contributor?

Anyone over the age of 18 at the time of application may apply.Do I need Zenless Zone Zero pieces to apply?

No. Pieces for ZZZ are recommended, but not required. Just show us your best work!I've never played the game. Can I still apply?

Of course! You may apply, but be warned that there may be spoilers for the game while working on the zine.How many contributors are you accepting?

We will be looking for roughly 35-50 contributors, including guests. This will consist of 20-25 Page Artists, 5-7 Writers, 5-8 Merch Artists, 2-4 Cosplayers, and 3-6 Musicians. Exact numbers are subject to change, depending on reception to our application period and any changes in plans for production.Can I apply for multiple roles?

Yes! Please be aware that you will only be accepted into one role, however.Will applicants be able to request critiques?

Mods will be unable to provide critiques for a specific application.What are contributors expected to create?

Page artists will be expected to create at least 1 page or 1 spread of fully rendered art.Writers will be expected to create 1 short fiction story (with a wordcount limit of 2,500 words) and/or 1 article of their choice in style, which will be in communication with mods.Merch artists will be expected to create at least 2 pieces of merchandise, which will be decided on in communication with mods.Spot artists will be expected to provide small illustrations and/or other various character art for writers' pieces or other miscellaneous pages.Cosplayers will be expected to create at least 1 page of photographed work. Page layout can be worked with the mod team, or done by the contributor alone.Musicians will be expected to create at least 1 original song, with a maximum of 5 minutes for total time.Is traditional art allowed?

Of course! Traditional pieces must be scanned in high quality. We recommend doing so at 600 dpi or higher.If I don't have a large following, can I still join?

Yes! Anyone has the potential to join, regardless of their follower count.Will applicants or contributors be rejected/removed based on content created outside of the zine?

No. Applicants' or contributors' works apart from their application and work for the zine will be considered outside our scope and won't be monitored. We only ask that you avoid sharing "problematic" or "dead dove" content on your
zine piece(s) or within the zine server. These include underage NSFW, minor/adult ships, incest, and noncon/rape.

Removal from the zine will only occur if a contributor is found to be harassing others, failing to update mods on their progress, or is in any other violation of our project rules, which are made available at acceptance to join.Are collaborations between contributors allowed?

Yes! We'd love to have any and all collaborations between contributors. Note that collaborations can only be decided after contributors are accepted into the zine.
If you would like to apply as a duo, studio, or group, you only need to fill out one application. Please note that this will be considered as one entity for a cut at the end of the project.Are alternate universes (AUs) allowed?

Yes. As the game itself is inspired by films, fairy tales, and other fantasy elements, AUs will be allowed. Characters should still be recognizable and the AU should align with our general guidelines.Are ships allowed?

This zine will only contain gen content, so no explicit ship/pairing content will be included.Are original characters (OCs) allowed?

As the world of New Eridu is extremely diverse and creative, original characters will be allowed solely as background characters in a piece, but not the focus.May I submit an older piece for the zine?

No. You will be expected to create a new piece for the zine.
